Staff from Lamb & Holmes Solicitors supported the annual Jeans for Genes day on Friday 22nd September by wearing their denim to the office in a bid to do something amazing for the half a million children in the UK affected by a life-altering genetic disorder.
1 in 25 children in the UK are born with a genetic disorder, which equates to around one child in every school class within the country! Jeans for Genes raise funds to support children affected by such disorders.
Some genetic disorders are apparent at birth while others are diagnosed at different stages throughout childhood, and sometimes into adolescence. There are over 6,000 types of genetic disorder, and every one is different. A child with a genetic disorder may have learning difficulties, skin conditions, experience epilepsy or autism, or lose their sight and hearing. They may experience chronic pain and spend long periods of time in hospital.
Lamb & Holmes chose to take part in this initiative by donating and getting everyone to wear jeans, helping to fund projects that provide nursing care, equipment, activity weekends, online support and counselling to this incredible charity.
